Verify your Subscriber List(s)

Verifying your email addresses is a fantastic way to minimize the risk of hard bounces, and ensure a much higher deliverability rate. This has a positive impact, not just on your sender reputation, but also on your overall campaign stats. Remember, if more than 20% of your emails are bad, then typically only about 40% will end up being delivered, as the rest will be rejected by ISPs and email servers, as they will seem to come from a bad source.

With that in mind, if you want to verify your email address, just follow these steps:

To Upload and Verify a New List:

Step 1: Click “Lists and Subscribers”, and choose the drop down option for “Create a New List”

Step 2: Fill in the list name so you can find this later, and the reason why people subscribed to your list (for the purposes of email marketing only – if you plan just to verify and not use it in the Campaign Connex software for emailing purposes then you do not need to fill in this field)

Step 3: Choose how to import your data (paste and go, or upload a CSV) – for help on this, see our full article on creating a list here 

Step 4: Once you have processed the upload / hit next, you will be asked if you want to Verify or not – Click to verify and import  ( screen-shot-2016-12-22-at-10-08-16 )screen-shot-2016-12-22-at-10-08-45

Step 5: This will take you to the payment page, which will automatically provide you with a quote, based on the number of emails on your list. If you are happy with this, then select proceed, and this will launch the payment window. If you would rather not, then you can click cancel, and return to import without verifying, if this is your preference.

Step 6: Fill in your payment details in the window provided, and then click to proceed. This will process your payment and then take you to the next part of the verification process.

Step 7: Your data will now be verified, and a loading screen will appear in front of you, travelling up to 100%

Step 8: Once your verification is complete, you’ll be presented with a graph of the results as outlined above, and the options to download the data belonging to each individual category of results to your desktop if desired.

Step 9: You then need to choose whether to Import only the “Deliverable” contacts, or whether you wish to include those which are deemed as either “Risky” or “Unknown” as well. “Undeliverable” contacts cannot be imported. Once you have decided, hit the relevant button to finish importing your data. Please note though, that once you have clicked to import, this cannot be undone, and the data stored in the verifier will be automatically deleted.

Step 10: Your verified data will now be in the system and ready to use for campaigns. If you wish to export this at any point, follow the how-to guide here.

 

To Verify / Re-Verify an Existing List:

Step 1: Click “Lists and Subscribers” and choose the drop down option for “Manage Subscribers”

Step 2: Scroll down to the relevant list and hit “Manage”screen-shot-2016-12-22-at-10-41-03

Step 3: Hit the drop-down option for “Re-verify List”

Step 4: This will take you to the payment page, so follow steps 5 – 8 from above.

Step 5: You then need to choose which data to remove / delete (as all data is still currently in the system) – choose to remove only the data tagged as “Undeliverable” or choose to remove “Undeliverable, Risky and Unknown” for the best possible results.

Step 6: Once you have chosen your option and clicked on the relevant button, you will be returned to the main list screen, which will now show the size of your list after having removed the invalid contacts.

 

To Verify / Re-Verify Specific Contacts Only:

Step 1: Click “Lists and Subscribers” and choose the drop down option for “Manage Subscribers”

Step 2: Scroll down to the relevant list and hit its hyperlinked name to open up the list detailsscreen-shot-2016-12-22-at-10-47-15

Step 3: Select which contacts you wish to verify and then hit the “Verify” button, and choose “selected contacts” from the drop down list available. (To do the entire list, hit “All contacts”)

Step 4: This will take you to the payment page, so follow steps 4-6 from the second approach above.
